Floorp v12.20.1 is now available. This maintenance release addresses rapid memory growth and freezes encountered in v12.20.0.
Thank you for reporting the issue and helping verify the fix. We apologize for the inconvenience to those affected.
🛠️ Fixed rapid memory growth and freezes
Fixed an issue that could cause rapid memory growth and leave Floorp unresponsive during startup or when using right-click menus under certain conditions.
⭐️ For users updating from 12.19.0
This update also includes the features introduced in v12.20.0.
- Open a sidebar when you need it: display it over the page without changing the page's width, or open it by hovering over an icon or the screen edge.
- Make the command palette your own: adjust its size, position and text size, and choose which tabs, bookmarks and other suggestions appear.
- Take your notes with you: save a selected note as a Markdown (
.md) file for use in another editor. - Organize right-click menus: where the Flasco feature is available, hide unwanted items or rearrange the commands you use most.
- Simplify your tabs: hide close buttons and individual indicators, such as the audio indicator.
The update also includes Firefox 157.0.1 and fixes for mobile mode in Web Panels and experimental macOS Web Apps. For more on using these features, see the v12.20.0 release notes.
🧪 Flasco and further improvements
Flasco rolls out experimental features gradually, making them available to only some users at first. Some parts of right-click menu customization ran in the background even for users who had not received the feature. This meant Flasco did not sufficiently limit the impact of this issue. We recognize this shortcoming.
For right-click menu customization, Flasco now controls both access to the settings and whether the feature runs. We will continue improving this system.
